Business Development Representative (UK)

We're glad you're here β€” tell us a little about you and we'll be in touch.

Full-time Remote πŸ“ Remote πŸ’° GBP 32,000–35,000 / per year

Axelerant has been expanding in the United Kingdom for five years, and we have done it largely through partners and channels rather than people on the ground. That model has taken us a long way. What it cannot do is pick up a conversation the same week someone raises their hand. We are running active campaigns into technology and management consulting firms, private equity backed portfolio companies, higher education, sports and wellness, and non profit and membership organisations across the region right now, and those hand raisers need someone local to own them and take them forward. This role exists to close that gap.

You will be our presence on the ground in the United Kingdom market. You will own the prospects who respond to our campaigns, represent Axelerant at industry events, partner meetups, and networking groups, and turn conversations into booked meetings for our senior sales and business leaders. Our senior leaders open the market and own the commercial conversations. Your job is to build on that groundwork and make sure momentum is never lost to silence.

This is a remote role based anywhere in the United Kingdom, working United Kingdom business hours with some overlap with colleagues in India and continental Europe. Regular in person attendance is core rather than occasional: expect to be at events or client meetings at least twice a month, with some travel across the United Kingdom.

What you'll do

Own our physical presence in the United Kingdom market. You will represent Axelerant at industry events, conferences, partner meetups, and networking groups across the United Kingdom. You will decide, with your manager, which rooms are worth being in, research who is likely to be there and what matters to them, and then work those rooms properly rather than collecting badges. Success looks like consistent attendance at two to three relevant events per month, a target list built before each one, and a growing set of named contacts who recognise Axelerant because they have met you.

Generate qualified meetings for our senior team. You will run outbound prospecting into our target segments: technology and management consulting firms, private equity backed portfolio companies, higher education, sports and wellness, and non profit and membership organisations, ranging from mid market through to enterprise. You will book meetings that our senior sales and business leaders and functional leads actually want to take. Success is a consistent monthly volume of qualified meetings booked and held, against a target agreed in your first month and reviewed quarterly as you find your rhythm.

Prepare before you engage. You will not walk into an event, a call, or a first meeting cold. You will research the organisation and the people in it beforehand, using artificial intelligence assisted tooling to build a working view of what they are dealing with and what is worth asking. Axelerant is an artificial intelligence native agency, and that applies to how we operate internally, not only to what we sell. Success is a short written brief before every senior meeting you book, and research turnaround measurably faster than a manual approach would allow.

Convert campaign interest into conversations. Our marketing team runs live demand generation campaigns across all of these segments, including partner led activity with Acquia in United Kingdom higher education. You will pick up responders fast, qualify them, and route or book them. Success is a first response to every inbound or campaign responder within one working day, and a rising share of responders converted to booked meetings.

Keep relationships alive between senior touchpoints. When a senior colleague opens a conversation on a visit or a call, you keep it warm. You will maintain a personal follow up rhythm with prospects and with the partner contacts across our ecosystem, which includes an established partnership with Acquia and growing partnerships with Amazon Web Services, Salesforce, Adobe Commerce (Magento), and Anthropic. Success is measured by how few warm contacts lapse without contact for more than four weeks.

Keep our market data honest. You will log every contact, conversation, and piece of field intelligence in our Customer Relationship Management system, HubSpot, and share what you learn with the wider team. This is not administration, it is the asset that makes the territory repeatable. Success is every meaningful interaction logged within 24 hours and a territory record a colleague could pick up and understand.

What we're looking for

One to three years in a business development, sales development, or field or events marketing role. Business to business, ideally in technology, digital, or agency services.

Genuine comfort starting conversations with strangers in person. You can give a specific example of an event or networking setting where you did this and describe what came of it.

Evidence that you prepare before you engage. You research accounts and the people in them ahead of a call, meeting, or event, and you can describe what that preparation actually looks like in practice.

Eligibility and availability to do this job in the United Kingdom. You have the right to work in the United Kingdom without sponsorship, since employment is through an Employer of Record, and you can travel within the United Kingdom for events and meetings at least twice a month.
